Polyacrylamide (PAM), the white granular in appearance, can be divided into three types, they are Anionic Polyacrylamide, Cationic Polyacrylamide, and Nonionic Polyacrylamide.  Although these PAM chemicals are mainly used for water treatment, they also have other different applications.

 

1. Anionic Polyacrylamide(APAM):

APAM can be widely used in the chemical industry's wastewater treatment, municipal sewage treatment, such as coal washing, mineral processing, metallurgy, iron and steel industry, and electronic industry. It is also used in the oil industry to enhance oil recovery, which is widely used. Besides, anionic polyacrylamide can be used as paper additives and textile pulp agent.

2. Cationic Polyacrylamide(CPAM):

CPAM is very efficient in usage and has a high dehydration rate. It is used for wastewater treatment in an alcohol factory, monosodium glutamate factory, sugar factory, beverage factory, tanneries, dyeing, and other fields. It has a better effect to be used together with inorganic coagulants in particular. Besides, cationic polyacrylamide can be used as paper additives as well.
